The AI-Visibility Provider Red-Flag Scorecard

Thinking about hiring someone, or buying a tool, to get your store found by AI? Run them through these checks first. You do not need to inspect anyone's code. Some you will hear in the sales pitch. Some you find out by asking one plain question and watching how they answer. A few apply only if it is software. An honest provider clears every one without flinching. When you finish, you get a plain-English verdict and the exact questions to take into the conversation.

Answer each check below. Your red-flag count and verdict update as you go.

Check your own site, free (no code needed)

You do not have to take anyone's word. Start with the two that need no login:

  • See what your page claims: Google Rich Results Test or validator.schema.org shows your behind-the-scenes tags, so you catch any that lie about your page.
  • Reveal hidden text: open your page and press Cmd-A or Ctrl-A. White-on-white text hidden for the AI lights up when highlighted.

Then, if you already have Google Search Console connected (setting it up is the one fiddly step, so treat this tier as optional):

  • Did someone hurt my site? The Manual Actions and Security Issues reports say plainly if Google penalized you.
  • Junk links pointing at me? The Links report shows a sudden wave of spammy domains.
  • Cloaking? URL Inspection, then View Crawled Page, compared to your live page.

A red flag is a reason to slow down. One flag means ask harder questions. Three or more means walk. None of these checks require you to be technical, only honest about what you are being told. Red Pin Geek, redpingeek.com.
