Costs you nothing in search or citations. Also block Google-Extended Handled separately because it is not purely training. It also controls whether Gemini can ground answers in your site, so ticking this can cost you Gemini citations. It does not affect your normal Google ranking. Block AI search crawlers too (not recommended) Full lockdown. This removes you from ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude answers entirely. Only tick this if being absent from AI search is what you actually want.

Be clear-eyed about robots.txt. Well-behaved crawlers honour it. A bot that is determined to scrape you will ignore it entirely. Treat the file as the polite request, and treat the steps below as the enforcement.

Send an email to branddirect@amazon.com
Use this subject line: "Request to Opt Out of Shop Direct and Buy for Me Programs"
Include your brand name, website URL, and a statement that you do not authorize Amazon to list or sell your products
Keep a copy of what you sent and the date. If listings reappear later, that record is what you escalate with.

Check If You've Been Scraped

🔍 How to Check

Search Amazon.com for your brand name and for the exact names of your one-of-a-kind pieces
Look for listings offering your work that you did not create
Watch your order notifications for buyer emails on Amazon-operated domains, and for orders where the shipping name and the email do not match
Flag orders that arrive with no browsing beforehand, especially on higher-priced pieces
