Free Red Pin Geek tool

Your store is the storefront where AI decides whether to recommend you.The wrong "expert" or tool can get it penalized behind your back while you pay for the privilege.

The AI-Visibility Provider Red-Flag Scorecard is free. Run any consultant or any software tool through 11 plain-English checks, get a verdict, and walk away with the exact questions to ask, before you hand anyone your store or your money.

You cannot read the code. That does not mean you are stuck.

AI visibility is the new gold rush, so the pitches are everywhere: guaranteed citations, a secret method, a piece of software that does it all for you. Some are real. Many are the old search-gaming crowd in a new hat, and the shortcuts they sell can get your site penalized, with the penalty landing on you long after they have moved on.

The hard part is that most of it happens where you cannot see it: behind-the-scenes tags, hidden text, bought links, a credit meter you did not understand when you signed up. You are a maker, not an engineer. So the question is not "can I inspect their code." It is "what can I hear, what can I ask, and how do they answer."

What the free scorecard does

  • Runs your consultant or software tool through 11 red-flag checks, grouped by what you can hear in the pitch, what to ask and then listen for, and the traps that only apply to software.
  • Gives you a live red-flag count and a plain verdict: green light, proceed with caution, or walk away.
  • Builds you a personalized vetting kit: based on which flags fired, it hands you the exact questions to take into the conversation.
  • Points you to free tools to check your own site, so you can see the things you cannot see yourself, with no login and no code.
  • Lets you print or save a one-page summary to keep next to you while someone is pitching.

Built for makers, not engineers

Every check is written so a jeweler at the bench can use it. Nothing asks you to open a developer tool or read a line of code. The whole design assumes you know your craft and your customers cold, and that the technical side has been made to feel more mysterious than it needs to be. This is the vetting layer: it protects you at the exact moment you are deciding who to trust with the store you built.

Why I built this

A little over a year ago, I was the one getting swept up. There was an AI-visibility platform that dazzled everyone at its launch, gorgeous demos, an agent that promised to do the work for me, a one-click way to build authority with backlinks. I bought a stack of credits and dove in.

Then I looked closer. The "link building" bought placements from partner sites that were blurred out, so I could not see which sites my brand was about to be attached to. The real price was hidden in credits I had to keep buying. When a bug drained them and a promised course never arrived, support ignored me until I went public. I recovered only part of what I was owed, and I happen to know where to push. In that platform's own reviews, plenty of people were not as lucky.

I got out fast, and I built the honest, measurable version of this work as the long answer to that experience. This free tool is the part I most wish I had handed my past self, so you never have to fight your way back out of a trap I already mapped.

Who this is for

You, if you have read the guide and felt the recognition land, if you are about to hire someone or buy a tool and something in the pitch is nagging at you, or if you just want to protect your store before you spend a dollar. It is free, and it asks nothing technical of you.

Who should start somewhere else: if no one is touching your site yet and you simply want to know where your store stands, run the free AI Visibility Score first. If your provider already passed this scorecard and you want to know which page-level gap to fix, that is the Citation Clock Scorecard's job.

Spotting fakes is defense. Premium is offense.

The scorecard protects you from the wrong provider. Red Pin Geek Premium teaches you the thing the fakes cannot fake: how to measure whether real work is actually moving your citations, using the same method I built for my own store, days from publish to first citation, measured against a control.

One Premium subscription includes that method in full, plus every premium scorecard and worked walkthrough, weekly studio-side posts, and comment access on every paid post. One subscription, all the tools, no per-tool charges.

Get the measurement method the snake-oil can't sell you

The free scorecard keeps you from hiring the wrong help. Premium hands you the honest way to prove the right help is working.

Questions

Is the scorecard really free?
Yes. The Red-Flag Scorecard is free to everyone, with no subscription and no login. It is the tool I most wish I had handed my past self. Red Pin Geek Premium is a separate, paid tier for the deeper measurement method and the other scorecards.
Do I need to be technical to use it?
No. Every check is written in plain language, and nothing asks you to open a developer tool or read code. Some checks are things you hear in the pitch, some are questions you ask and then listen to the answer, and a few apply only if you are looking at software. The tool also points you to free, no-login ways to check your own site.
Does this apply to software companies, or just consultants?
Both. Software is often the more tempting trap because it looks like doing it yourself. The scorecard includes checks written specifically for software: hidden credit or token pricing, "link building" that will not show you the sites, and lock-in that erases your work if you leave.
What does Red Pin Geek Premium add that the free tool does not?
The free tool helps you avoid the wrong provider. Premium teaches you to measure whether the right work is actually moving your AI citations: days from publish to first citation, measured against a control, plus every premium scorecard, worked walkthroughs, weekly posts, and comment access. One subscription, all the tools.
What if I think a past provider already did something risky?
Run the free scorecard first, then check your own site with the free tools it points you to (the Search Console Manual Actions report is the most important). If you want a second set of eyes, the AI Visibility + Agentic Commerce Audit is the done-for-you option, and I will tell you whether anything risky was left behind.

Want me to run these checks on your store for you? The AI Visibility + Agentic Commerce Audit is the done-for-you option (Snapshot / Full Audit / Full Audit + 1:1 call). I will also tell you whether a past provider or tool left anything risky behind.
